DEN Crews Walk for Breast Cancer

The crew on the Discoverer Enterprise on Jan.30, 2011, hosted their fourth annual “Walk the Gulf 2011 Breast Cancer Awareness” event. Offshore participants received special t-shirts to wear as they walked the rig in support of breast cancer awareness. The event, managed by Motorman David Williams, has drawn a crowd of almost 200 in the years it has been conducted. The Breast Cancer Society (breastcancersociety.org) receives a portion of the proceeds from the t-shirts and hats purchased for the occasion.

“A great time was had by all for a very worthy cause,” said RSTC Kenneth W. Belile Jr.

Transocean Contributes $25K to Susan G. Komen for the Cure

Transocean in 2010 raised more than $25,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure via a corporate donation and more than $15,000 in employee contributions.

In addition, more than 200 employees and their family members hit the streets in Houston on October 2, 2010, participating in the Komen Houston Race for the Cure.

Kudos To This Year’s Top Fundraisers!
The entire Transocean team worked hard to support this year’s “Race for the Cure” and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world’s largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. But three people really went above and beyond in their fundraising efforts, and were awarded gift certificates for their efforts.

Congratulations to:

Eunice Mock, Human Resources ($1,025 in contributions)

Yolanda Rivera, CMI ($420 in contributions)

Joe Armel, ERP ($300 in contributions)
