TimKelley101Staff Sergeant Matt Blackwell, a member of the National Guard and a Transocean employee at Houston Materials Center, recently presented his Manager, Tim Kelley, with a Patriotic Employer award from the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Tim has been very supportive of Matt attending his platoon drills and all his reserve functions.

Bringing Transocean Home

KiransRig81Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a Transocean rig – in your garden?? That’s just the look that Kiran Kumar, Radio Operator on the Dhirubhai Deepwater KG1 was going for when he had a mini drillship custom built for his home. Check out the photo!! Kiran’s “Transocean Queen” is actually connected to the water bore and supplies fresh water to the garden! “Kiran is very proud to be a part of Transocean and I believe this says it all,” said KG1 RSTC Dave Francis.

ReunionoftheDiscover53494Reunion! The Discoverer 534 sure has produced a lot of OIMs – and here’s the photo that proves it. The 1987 drill crew on the Discoverer 534 found themselves together again at a 2010 OIM meeting. From left to right: Larry Rogers (Discoverer Americas OIM), Mark Wise (Discoverer Inspiration OIM), Jason Braquet (Discoverer Enterprise OIM), John Redington (Discoverer Clear Leader OIM), and Wayne Byrd (Deepwater Pathfinder OIM).

MikeHallClassic13Co-workers in the North America Division gathered last April for the annual NAM Golf and Fishing Tournament at Toledo Bend Lake in Louisiana. The 2010 event was hosted in the memory of the late Mike Hall, Transocean’s former VP of Newbuilds, one of the event’s longtime enthusiasts and good friend to so many employees. This year’s NAM Golf and Fishing Tournament is scheduled for April 8 and 9, 2011. Look for photos in the next Beacon.
