Houston Employees Rocked the Walk for the Susan G. Komen Foundation

As a Platinum Sponsor this year, Transocean employees helped raise over $63,800 for the 2012 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure: $33,800 in employee contributions and $30,000 via corporate donations. Over 100 Transocean employees attended the race in downtown Houston on October 6 and joined 30,000 others to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the world’s largest nonprofit whose mission supports the fight against breast cancer.

Prior to the race, the Transocean’s Komen project team held popular fundraising events, including the annual Pink Pancake breakfast, bake sale, online silent auctions, and raffles. This year, a new fundraiser generated more donations and laughs, as employees paid to “dunk” their bosses in the dunking booths at the Beach Cleanup event and Park 10 building. As a top sponsor, Transocean representatives were also invited to the Pink Pasta Party, where top Komen sponsors from across the city joined to celebrate and raise money one last time before the 5K walk/run took place.
